- Do I have to first "register" or become a
"member" to browse Travelovista.com?
Not at all. Unlike many other websites, we are NOT interested in
building up a database of all visitors to our site, and then spamming their mailboxes. We take our
Privacy
Policy seriously, and prefer to utilize our energies to further
enhance our services.
It's only when you submit a reservation request to us, that we ask you to register
for FREE. This is required for logging into the Member Center and confirming/modifying
your bookings. For more information, please read How does your reservation system work?
below.
- Why do you have separate
tariffs in Indian Rupees and U.S.Dollars?
Several hotels have differential pricing which may not adhere to the
current exchange rate. Prices in Indian Rupees are applicable only to those domiciled in India - whether Indian nationals or foreign nationals with a certificate of registration. US Dollar prices are applicable for Non-Resident Indians and Foreign Nationals.
- I don't want the Special Offer of Free
Breakfast that XYZ hotel is offering.
Can't you simply reduce the room
tariff?
It MAY be possible in certain hotels. Please mention so in the Comments
box while submitting your reservation request.
- Why am I getting "cookie"
warnings?
To use our reservation system, it is necessary to accept cookies.
You may have either disabled cookies in your browser,
or declined to accept our cookie. Please edit your browser options/preferences, enable cookies, and
refresh the page on which you got the error. For more information on
cookies and how we use them, please read our Privacy
Policy.
- How does your
reservation system work?
Shortlist tours, hotels & cars by clicking the ADD to
ENQUIRY CART button and continue browsing. Once you are done, click
ENQUIRY CART
(on the top of each page), and follow the instructions provided
therein to submit your reservation request. You will be asked to
provide your Login Name and Password. If you are not an existing member,
you can register without leaving the page. No payment is required at this
stage.
After processing your request, we will make provisional bookings for you, update your Reservation Status and notify you by email. You are then
required to login within 2 days to the Member Center and confirm the bookings.
You need to pay ONLY when YOU confirm. Once your full payment is received, you will be able to print out
the Service Voucher to avail the ordered services.
- What are "credits"? Are they transferable?
We value your business, and to show our appreciation, we credit 2%
of your travel bill to your account, which you can redeem against your next
reservation
at Travelovista.com. Credits CANNOT be transferred. However, you may utilize
your credits by making reservations for your friends through your Login
Name.
Credits are calculated on the pre-tax figure and are made available AFTER you have availed the services. Credits have to be utilized within one year from the issued date and are not applicable on Hotel Hot Deals. While Travelovista reserves the right to not issue credits and discontinue this offer at its discretion, existing credits can be utilized within the given 1 year period.
Let's say, you make book a package tour worth $2500. After you have
completed the tour, we will credit $50 (2% of $2500) to
your account, which you can check by logging into your Member Center.
Now, whenever you next make a travel reservation on our site, you can
take a $50 discount off your bill! Or, if you like, you can
accumulate Credits and apply them at a later date.
- Can I reserve for someone else?
Sure. While submitting your reservation request, you are asked to provide
the traveler's name. This is used for making provisional reservations.
When you confirm the bookings, we also ask you to confirm the traveler's
name once again. This is to give you additional flexibility for reserving
different services for different people. And also enable you to utilize
your credits,
if any, by reserving for your friends.
- How long do you take to confirm availability
status?
Normally within 1 to 2 business days. However, you will appreciate that we are dependent on
various agencies to confirm
availability, and the response time may vary. Your
requested dates and room category may also be a factor. If more than 72 hours have elapsed, please
click the Feedback link in your Member Center.
- How do I change my confirmed reservations?
You will find links for modifying and deleting your bookings on the
Reservation Status page in your Member Center. Please remember that
Modifications are treated as cancelled and re-booked, and cancellation
charges MAY apply.
- Which Credit Cards do you accept?
Currently, VISA and MasterCard - both Indian Rupees and
International cards.
- When do you charge my Credit Card?
Your credit card is charged ONLY when you confirm your
provisional reservation. This is required to guarantee your
booking.
Moreover, since your hotel room and taxes are prepaid, you will only owe the hotel for incidental charges
while checking out.
- Is my credit card information secure?
Absolutely. Credit card processing is handled by our parent company IndoLinks,
Inc. using Verisign-certified 128-bit Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption. SSL transmits data in an encoded format that prevents eavesdropping or data theft. Once received by
the secure server, your credit card number is never transmitted over the Internet
again. We do not store your
credit card information with us.
- I don't feel comfortable transmitting my credit card
information over the Internet. What other payment options do you offer?
If you have any apprehensions in paying online, you may give your credit
card details by Telephone (+91-141-360860) or FAX
(+91-141-408860) to our Billing Department.
Customers outside India can remit funds by Wire Transfer. Indian
customers may pay by Demand Draft or deposit their cheques in an HDFC
Bank branch in their city.
